We're delighted to welcome Emma Cook back to The Woodturning School. She brings genuine passion, infectious energy, and a creative approach to turning that it opens up new possibilities at the lathe.
This course is brand new to Emma’s teaching repertoire and has only been demonstrated a handful of times, so you really will be creating something fresh!
The day will combine both cross-grain and spindle turning so there is a lot to get through! Once the turning it done, we will be carving some texture onto the edge of the piece and adding a bit of colour (if you wish) to highlight it.
The end result will be a beautiful centre piece for a table.
Who is this Class for?
This class is a little more taxing than some of the others I have run so I would not recommend it to beginners or those with little turning experience.

This time she's sharing two of her signature techniques the faux hollow form and her hand-carved banded bowl giving students the chance to learn skills that go beyond conventional turning into carving and colour finishing. It's going to be a great day.

The day
9am: Meet at the Garden Centre Coffeeshop
9.30am: Workshop begins
12.30pm: Lunch at the Coffeeshop (included)
1.00pm: Carry on
2.30pm: Coffee break
4pm: Finish and tidy.Included: All timber, tools, pen kit, consumables, safety equipment.
Payments
A deposit of 30% is required to secure your booking. This deposit is non-refundable in the event of cancellation by the client. It covers buying materials and advertising your space in the event of cancellation. Amendments can be made up to 14 days before the date for a £10 admin fee.
